Goonies 2 Nintendo Review
If your anything like me you loved 80's movies. There was just something special
about them. my Sister and I use to watch all of them. One of these movies i
liked was The Goonies. Well to cash in on the movies success was two games. I'll
be talking about one of them, The Goonies two for the Nintendo. While there isn't
a lot to tie the movie with the game the Goonies are in it and so are the crooks. They
kidnapped the Goonies and Annie. You job is to rescue them. You get several weapons and items. This game is really divided into two sections. The first being a platform section. Here you will fight enemy's with a yo yo or a bomb or several other things. During these parts the control feels a little stiff and there are several pits and moving platforms. The yo yo only fires the way you are facing. One thing I like is the music. It does repeat and it's got a tinny kind of
sound. The enemy's are constantly spawning. You can press start to bring up your menu and
you have items and thankfully a map, but you will still get confused where you are. Which
brings me to the other section of the game. The adventure part of the game. This is
almost like a crappy knock off of Kemco's adventure titles such as Shadowgate, Uninvited,
and Deja Vu. It shares way more similarities to Friday the 13th's cabins. You have
several choices such as go, hit, take, and tools. You move from room to room hitting
walls for items or passages, open safes, talk to people, rescue Goonies, and collecting
items. The control feels way off, sluggish, and just a pain. The music in these segments are always the same. It sounds a hell of a lot like legend of Zelda's dungeon theme. Actually it's almost the same music. This is pretty common for Nintendo games but this
is crazy. You can download the music below and compare. You will be in these a lot. You'll be greeted by an old man from time to time. This is what I think brings the game down. The graphics are OK, except for your character. He looks like some one puked blue and pink. This game will actually take awhile to beat.
I never actually have. I give this game 4/10
