Silent House Horror Review
I've seen a lot of horror movies in my life. Some good, some bad, some that were not worth watching. I was waiting to see Silent House for awhile. I put it off long enough to where my hype was so much I paid twenty dollars for it. I remember watching the previews for it and it looked scary but I did not know much about the plot other then a girl was trapped inside a house. I also knew that the film was suppose to be shot through a single continuous shot. I later found out it was only edited to look that way. It was a remake of La Casa Muda, which was supposedly based on a real story. No evidence to back that up though. So the hype was pretty big for me. I avoided any reviews or information on the movie, which was my first mistake, the second being I bought and watched it. The story is Sara is working for her dad and uncle fixing up and selling houses. They are going to fix and sell their old country home. The uncle leaves and the dad goes on his own and soon Sara starts hearing things. She eventually finds her dad and he has been knocked out. She then notices a person is inside the house and for some reason her dad and uncle have key locks inside the house. She has no keys on her so she is trapped in the house. Sounds pretty good right? Well the movie starts to go down hill and starts going in all different directions. She sees a little girl and a weird man dressed in a black bondage like clothes. Towards the end of the film you start to figure out were this is going and all you can think is please no. It turns out Sara is seeing memories and she got molested by her father and the uncle watched. She's the one in the house and hurting her father. She spazes out and kills her dad and lets her uncle go. That doesn't explain why the guy in black is haunting her. The camera blurs and moves to much when there is a scare. So you have a hard time seeing what she is running from. The acting in it is ok in the beginning but gets worse as the movie goes on. This was just a bad movie and a waste of money. It's not even good bad. I was so mad to have paid for the dvd. I give this a 2/10
